Licence
MIT License (MIT) Assets: The soundtrack is not covered by the repository licence. It is Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14, 3rd movement "readapted by Ryan Malm for this game" (app/music/song.ts at the submitted revision), bundled into the shipped index.html. No licence or permission statement for it exists in the repository, in the js13kGames entry metadata, in the in-game credits or anywhere the composer publishes, so Bytelane has no documented grant to redistribute it. Upstream redistribution status is unclear. The code itself is clean: LICENSE is MIT, Copyright (c) 2022 Salvatore Previti, and permits redistribution and modification. The bundled SoundBox playback engine is also resolvable, because app/music/music-player.ts carries the zlib-style notice of Copyright (c) 2011-2013 Marcus Geelnard, which allows redistribution with the notice kept. The soundtrack is the only unresolved component, and it cannot be separated from the submission: the official build is one roadroller-packed index.html of 17552 bytes, and no commit of the source repository reproduces those bytes. See docs/games/dante.md.

About Dante

A delivery of evil souls has spilled into an area under construction, and Dante has to carry them down to the eighth circle. The level is built from CSG geometry by a hand-written WebGL engine, and the whole descent can be played from a top-down camera, from a first-person camera, or switched between the two at any time from the menu.

Provenance and licence

Made by Salvatore Previti, first released in 2022. Source is the author's own repository at https://github.com/js13kGames/dante, vendored here from commit 5d6140a3d3.
