Licence
MIT License (MIT) Assets: No asset files ship with the game: every visual is drawn procedurally on the canvas by the game code and every sound is synthesised at runtime by the bundled ZzFX engine. Two libraries are compiled into the shipped file and their notices are stripped by the minifier, so both are recorded here and their texts are vendored next to the game. ZzFX (Zuper Zmall Zound Zynth, micro edition, all in-game audio) is MIT, Copyright 2019 Frank Force, as stated in its own per-file header in the upstream source (src/app/ZzFX.micro.js); its upstream LICENSE is shipped as LICENSE.zzfx.txt. The Perlin and simplex noise code used for terrain, grass and water (src/app/core/Perlin.js) is public domain by its original author Stefan Gustavson, with optimisations by Peter Eastman and the JavaScript conversion by Joseph Gentle, as stated in that file's header. The stylesheet names the macOS system font Herculanum but bundles no font file, so no font licence is engaged. LICENSE is the upstream file copied verbatim (SHA-256 a8b9b8dbc4fdeefb4ea29b5660a257b1ff006a3b764b96a1dc310910ac864b17), added upstream in commit 42dbf879010767788c5b7bd977e1c9ad7f9ab8a1 "Create LICENSE" on 2020-09-10. The packaged index.html is the author's submitted dist/index.html with only a document title, an empty icon link and a provenance comment added; the game code, CSS and markup are byte-identical.

About The Last Spartan

An arcade hack and slash survival game set in ancient Sparta, 404 B.C. You are the last hoplite of your battalion, cutting down waves of Athenians across procedurally generated battlefields of grass, cliffs and rivers. There is no way out alive: a run ends with your death and the score is how many enemies you take with you before it does.

Provenance and licence

Made by Michael Ferron, first released in 2020. Source is the author's own repository at https://github.com/ferronsays/js13k-TheLastSpartan, vendored here from commit 2fd8dc38a6.
